Estes Park Goodies - July 2nd, 2015

One of our favorite markets is this Thursday at Bond Park in Estes Park from 8-1. We will be gearing up for the 4th of July Holiday Weekend.

The Vidalia onions are here! We slow caramelize them and then add them fresh granny smith apples, bacon and sharp cheddar cheese. Sweet, savory, tart and rich all in one dish.

This week's additional flavor: Mushroom Asparagus with Feta Cheese
The black pepper in our crust pulls out the sweetness in the Asparagus paired with earthy mushrooms and Feta Cheese.

We are looking forward to this week's markets. Should be a little cooler but perfect for the market. Spring produce is coming in and we are really excited to see everyone coming out to join us. Things are starting to ramp up for the season and we are excited.

Like the classic summer treat these are a blend of orange and vanilla!

Salted Caramel Cupcakes:
Vanilla cupcakes with a hint of caramel, a salted Caramel Better than Buttercream Frosting topped with a drizzle of caramel and a sprinkle of salt.

Bacon & Onion:
Who doesn't love Bacon (Kirk's shirts every week should show that he does!). We took the caramelized Vidalia onions and add them to bacon and cheddar for a hearty savory quiche.

Sunday Morning Breakfast - Chocolate Chip Banana Bread French Toast

Banana Bread Bread French Toast
This is one of our favorite recipes for the end of a banana bread loaf, for a great Sunday Brunch with friends or a quick and easy dessert recipe. With only a few ingredients and quick cooking times this is a perfect quick recipe.

Recipe:
1 Loaf Becca's Gourmet Goodies Chocolate Chip Banana Bread or Walnut Banana Bread
3 Eggs
2 Tablespoons Half and Half or Milk
1 tsp vanilla
Butter

Mix eggs, half and half and vanilla using a whisk or fork until fully combined. Slice banana bread into slices about an inch thick. Using a griddle or pan with large open surface melt the butter over medium heat. Dip slices into egg mixture and griddle 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Flip and crisp on the other side of the bread. Serve warm with butter. We like a touch of maple syrup as well.

Other options:

• Serve with berries and whipped cream for a lighter brunch dish. 
• Add a touch of liquor or extra vanilla to the mix then serve with ice cream for a fun quick dessert. Drizzle with Becca's Chocolate Noir or Caramel Sauce.
• Slice thinner for a crunchier french toast and layer with berries or sliced fresh fruit. Top with whipped cream or powdered sugar. 

2015 Farmer's Market Schedule

This summer Becca's Gourmet Goodies will be returning to the markets we love and adding new venues! The markets start the second week of May and most will run into October. We will have the usual selection but worked hard this winter to develop new products! We look forward to seeing everyone soon.

This summer Becca's Gourmet Goodies will be returning to the markets we love and adding new venues! We have started the Fort Collins Markets and will be starting the Estes Park Market this Thursday. Developing news - Our Kitchen is moving forward

What started out as a wish is becoming a reality. After working with the Larimer County Health Department last fall for preliminary approval on our new kitchen site, we have been able to start construction on a kitchen space of our own. Within the last week we have been installing the largest piece in the kitchen, the hood, and now see the end of construction in sight. We hope to finalize all of the paperwork by the end of the month and be able to start working in the new kitchen in the first part of April.

So what does this mean for Becca's Gourmet Goodies? The new kitchen will expand our options for catering and recipe development. More refrigeration and freezer space will let us debut several new products. We will also have more storage space to be able to provide additional variety on our website and the markets. Gluten free cooking classes are in the offing, too.

Overall, we are very excited about the future of Becca's Gourmet Goodies!
